Everyone should have a dog, and mine is Blu.

If I spend too long on my laptop Blu trots in and growls at me, reminding me that it's time to play. If I'm too focused on my phone, Blu nudges me with his battering ram nose to let me know that belly rubs are now overdue. If my table is covered with papers with character sketches and world maps and other esoterica, Blu drops one or more of his toys onto my workspace to remind me about what's important - him!

Interruptions are necessary for a writer. The ability to focus during interruptions and background distractions is an important skill for writers to attain. Also, we both know you wouldn't exercise at all if it wasn't for your version of Blu. Blu, and all of his avatars, are vital to our health. Embrace it. Enjoy it. And above all, love your dog.
